Prof. Ziad Tariq Abdul Ali, Associate Dean of the College of Engineering for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies, received a delegation from the Baghdad Office of the High Commission for Human Rights on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, as part of efforts to strengthen mutual cooperation and promote a culture of human rights within Iraqi universities. The meeting was attended by Dr. Israa Abdul Ali Kazem, Director of the Human Rights Unit at the college, and Dr. Mohammed Khalil Ahmed, liaison member of the unit.

The two sides discussed prospects for future cooperation between the Commission and the college, particularly in organizing specialized workshops and training courses for engineering students, delivered by Commission staff to support students’ abilities and enhance their knowledge in the field of human rights. The discussion also emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts and exchanging expertise to reinforce human rights principles within the academic environment and elevate students’ awareness and capacity-building in this area. The visiting delegation was also briefed on the main activities of the Human Rights Unit and its awareness programs directed at students.

This meeting reflects the commitment of both sides to strengthening cooperation in spreading a culture of human rights within the college and supporting students through constructive educational programs.
